Verily We bestowed Our favours on Moses and Aaron 114 And We saved them and their people from the great affliction, 115 And helped them, so that they became the victors; 116 and We gave them the Book which helps to make things clear; 117 and guided them upon the Straight Path. 118 And We kept their praise among the latter generations. 119 Salamun (peace) be upon Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron)!" 120 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 121 Surely they were both of Our believing servants. 122 So also was Elias among those sent (by Us). 123 When he said unto his folk: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 124 “What! You worship Baal (an idol) and leave the Best Creator?” 125 God, your Sustainer and the Sustainer of your forebears of old?" 126 And they denied him, so indeed, they will be brought [for punishment], 127 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 128 We preserved a good name for him among posterity. 129 Peace be unto Elias! 130 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 131 he was among Our believing servants. 132 And verily Lut was of the sent ones. 133 We saved him and all his people, 134 except for an old woman who remained behind. 135 and We destroyed the rest. 136 You pass by (their habitations) in the morning 137 and at night. Will you then not understand? 138

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
