We also bestowed Our favour on Moses and Aaron: 114 And We saved them and their people from the great distress; 115 And We supported them so it was they who overcame. 116 And We vouchsafed unto the twain a Book luminous. 117 and guided them upon the Straight Path. 118 And left (their remembrance) for posterity. 119 'Peace be upon Moses and Aaron' 120 Even thus do We reward the doers of good. 121 For they were two of our believing Servants. 122 Elijah too was one of the messengers. 123 When he said to his people: "Will you not fear Allah? 124 Will ye cry unto Baal and forsake the Best of creators, 125 “Allah – Who is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?” 126 But they gave him the lie: and therefore they will most surely be arraigned [on Judgment Day,] 127 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 128 We preserved a good name for him among posterity. 129 'Peace be upon Elias!' 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 He was one of Our believing servants. 132 And lo! Lot verily was of those sent (to warn). 133 We saved him and all his kinsmen, 134 Except an old woman (his wife) who was among those who remained behind. 135 Then We destroyed the others. 136 and, verily, [to this day] you pass by the remnants of their dwellings at morning-time 137 And at night. Will ye not therefore reflect? 138
