Hizb 46
< random >
And verily Yunus was of the sent ones. 139 When he ran away (like a slave from captivity) to the ship (fully) laden, 140 And then they cast lots, and he was the one who lost; 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been one of those who struggled hard, 143 He would certainly have tarried in its belly to the day when they are raised. 144 ۞ but We cast him upon the wilderness, and he was sick, 145 And We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the gourd kind. 146 Then We sent him unto a hundred thousand, or more, 147 So they accepted faith We therefore gave them usage for a while. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad): Hath thy Lord daughters whereas they have sons? 149 Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses (thereto)? 150 Lo! it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 "Allah has begotten children"? but they are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you decide? 154 Will you not then remember? 155 Or have you clear evidence? 156 “Then bring forth your Book, if you are truthful!” 157 And they have claimed between Him and the jinn a lineage, but the jinn have already known that they [who made such claims] will be brought to [punishment]. 158 Glory be to Allah (for freedom) from what they describe; 159 Not thus, however, [behave] God's true servants: 160 Wherefore verily neither ye nor that which ye worship, 161 Ye cannot excite (anyone) against Him. 162 except him who shall roast in the Blazing Fire. 163 And the angels say, “Each one of us has an appointed known position.” 164 we are those who stand ranged in ranks. 165 and, verily, we too extol His limitless glory!" 166 And surely they used to say: 167 If we had the account of earlier people with us, 168 We would have been the chosen creatures of God." 169 But (now that the Quran has come) they disbelieve therein (i.e. in the Quran and in Prophet Muhammad SAW, and all that which he brought, the Divine Revelation), so they will come to know! 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 assuredly they shall be helped, 172 and that it is Our host that would certainly triumph. 173 So turn away (O Muhammad SAW) from them for a while, 174 And wait; they will come to know soon. 175 Do they wish (indeed) to hurry on our Punishment? 176 But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned. 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 Glory to thy Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they ascribe (to Him)! 180 And peace be upon all His message-bearers! 181 and all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe. 182
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
