Hizb 46
< random >
And verily Yunus was of the sent ones. 139 when he ran away to the laden ship 140 and sailed away in a laden ship, wherein people cast lots. Because he lost, he was thrown into the water. 141 Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy. 142 and had he not been among those who exalt (Allah), 143 He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, 145 And We caused to grow up for him a gourdplant. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. 147 And they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Now ask thou them: are there for thy Lord daughters and for them sons? 149 Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?" 150 Is it not a lie invented by them when they say: 151 "Allah has begotten off spring or children (i.e. angels are the daughters of Allah)?" And, verily, they are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 “What is the matter with you? What sort of a judgement you impose!” 154 “So do you not ponder?” 155 Do you have clear authority? 156 Then produce your writ, if ye are truthful. 157 They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be produced before Him [for judgement]. 158 God is too glorious for what they ascribe to Him 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 for, verily, neither you [blasphemers] nor the objects of your worship 161 can cause anyone to fall prey to your temptation 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 None of us is there, but has a known station; 164 Lo! we, even we are they who set the ranks, 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 And surely they used to say: 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 "We would have indeed been the chosen slaves of Allah (true believers of Islamic Monotheism)!" 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 Therefore turn away from them for some time. 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 176 But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned. 177 So turn away from them for a time 178 and see [them for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 179 Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe. 180 and peace be upon the Messengers, 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
