Jonah too was one of the messengers. 139 When he fled unto the laden ship, 140 And then they cast lots and he was the one who lost, 141 And a fish swallowed him, and he was reproaching himself. 142 And had he not been of those who hallow Him, 143 He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore while he was sick, 145 and We caused to grow over him a tree of gourds. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 and they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Now, ask them, has your Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Did We create the angels females, to which they were witnesses? 150 Lo! it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you judge? 154 Do you not understand? 155 Or have you received some clear authority? 156 Produce, then, that divine writ of yours, if you are speaking the truth! 157 They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be produced before Him [for judgement]. 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 except for the sincere worshipers of Allah. 160 You and whatever you worship 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 unless it be such as rushes towards the blazing fire [of his own accord]! 163 None of us is there, but has a known station; 164 Lo! we, even we are they who set the ranks, 165 And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah." 166 And there were those who said, 167 “If we had some advice from the earlier generations,” 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 Yet (now that it is come) they disbelieve therein; but they will come to know. 170 Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys; 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 Therefore turn away from them for some time. 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 Do they seek to hasten on Our Torment? 176 Then, when it descends into their courtyard (i.e. near to them), evil will be the morning for those who had been warned! 177 And leave them for a time. 178 and see [them for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 179 Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! 180 Peace be with the Messengers (of God). 181 And Praise to Allah, the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

(1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
