Hizb 46
< random >
And, verily, Yunus (Jonah) was one of the Messengers. 139 He abandoned his people 140 and cast lots, and was of the rebutted, 141 [and they cast him into the sea,] whereupon the great fish swallowed him, for he had been blameworthy. 142 And were he not one of those who praise. 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on to the vacant surface of the earth while he was sick. 145 And We caused to grow over him a tree, a gourd. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (people) or even more. 147 and they believed in him: so We let them live in ease for a while. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad): Hath thy Lord daughters whereas they have sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. 151 Allah hath begotten. Allah! verily they tell a lie. 152 “Has he chosen daughters instead of sons?” 153 What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement? 154 Will you not, then, bethink yourselves? 155 Or have ye an authority manifest? 156 Then bring your book, if you are truthful. 157 They link Him with jinns by lineage, yet the jinns know they will be brought before Him. 158 God is too glorious for what they ascribe to Him 159 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 160 So you and your deities 161 Cannot lead astray [turn away from Him (Allah) anyone of the believers], 162 except him who shall roast in the Blazing Fire. 163 There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position); 164 and, verily, we too are ranged [before Him in worship]; 165 and we are of those who glorify Allah.” 166 AND, INDEED, they [who deny the truth] have always been wont to say, 167 “If we had some advice from the earlier generations,” 168 “We would certainly be the chosen bondmen of Allah.” 169 And yet, [now that this divine writ has been placed before them,] they refuse to acknowledge it as true! In time, however, they will come to know [what it was that they had rejected]: 170 And, verily, Our Word has gone forth of old for Our slaves, the Messengers, 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 and that Our hosts shall triumph. 173 So turn away (O Muhammad SAW) from them for a while, 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 Our torment seek they to hasten on! 176 When it comes down on their plains, it will be an evil dawn for those who had been warned. 177 So turn away from them for a while. 178 and watch. They, too, will watch. 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 and peace be upon the Messengers, 181 And all praise is to Allah, the Lord Of The Creation. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
