S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Sad. By the Quran, full of admonition! 1 Nay, but the unbelievers are steeped in arrogance and stubborn defiance. 2 How many did We destroy before them of the generations, then they cried while the time of escaping had passed away. 3 And they marvel that a warner from among themselves hath come unto them, and the disbelievers say: This is a wizard, a charlatan. 4 Has he turned so many gods into one deity? This is indeed a strange thing!" 5 And the leader among them go away (impatiently), (saying), "Walk ye away, and remain constant to your gods! For this is truly a thing designed (against you)! 6 We heard not thereof in the later faith; this is naught but an invention. 7 Has this Exhortation been sent down among us only to him, to the exclusion of all others?” Nay, they are in doubt regarding My Exhortation, and are saying all this because they have not yet had any taste of My chastisement. 8 Or do they [think that they] own the treasures of thy Sustainer's grace - [the grace] of the Almighty, the Giver of Gifts? 9 Or is it that theirs is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and what is between them? Then let them ascend by any 10 But there - will be put to flight even a host of confederates. 11 Before them, the people of Nooh had denied, and the tribe of A’ad, and Firaun who used to crucify. 12 And Samood and the people of Lut and the dwellers of the thicket; these were the parties. 13 There was not one of those that did not belie the Messengers. Therefore, My retribution was realized. 14
