And recite to them the tiding of Abraham 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They said, "We worship idols, and we keep squatting in seclusion before them." 71 He said: "Do they listen to you when ye call (on them)?" 72 Or do they profit you or cause you harm? 73 They said: nay; but we found our fathers doing in this wise. 74 Thereupon, Abraham said: "Have you seen (with your eyes) those whom you have been worshipping, 75 you and your forefathers -- 76 "They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation." 77 "Who created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 And Who feedeth me and watereth me. 79 and Who, when I am ill, heals me; 80 Who will cause me to die and then will again restore me to life; 81 and who, [hope, will forgive me my faults on Judgment Day! 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 And grant me an honourable mention in later generations; 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Paradise of Delight; 85 Forgive me and my father: He was surely among those who went astray. 86 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - 87 "The day when neither wealth will benefit nor will sons." 88 Save him who bringeth unto Allah a whole heart. 89 And Paradise will be brought near to the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2). 90 And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators, 91 And it will be said to them: "Where are those (the false gods whom you used to set up as rivals with Allah) that you used to worship 92 Besides Allah? Can they help you or yet help themselves? 93 Thereupon they will be hurled into hell - they, as well as all [others] who had been lost in grievous error, 94 and the hosts of Iblis, all together. 95 They will say while they dispute therein, 96 'By God, we were certainly in manifest error 97 When we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 "'And our seducers were only those who were steeped in guilt. 99 We have no one to intercede for us before God 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Ever Compassionate. 104
