We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without purpose, even though this is the belief of the disbelievers. Woe to the disbelievers; they will suffer the torment of fire 27 Shall We then treat alike those that believe and act righteously and those that create mischief on earth? Or treat alike the God-fearing and the wicked? 28 This is a Book We have sent down unto thee, blest, that they may ponder the revelations thereof, and that there may be admonished men of understanding. 29 We bestowed Solomon on David who was an excellent devotee, for he turned to God in penitence. 30 When well-bred horses, which were fleet of foot were paraded before him near the close of day, 31 he said: 'Indeed I have loved the love of good things better than the remembrance of my Lord until the sun has vanished behind a veil. 32 Bring them back to me' And he hacked their legs and necks (slaughtering them for Allah). 33 We surely tried Solomon, and placed another body on his throne. So he turned to God 34 He said, "My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me. Indeed, You are the Bestower." 35 So We subjected the wind to him, so that it ran softly by his command wherever he wished; 36 And the devils -- the builders and divers of all kinds, 37 And others bound together in shackles. 38 "Such are Our Bounties: whether thou bestow them (on others) or withhold them, no account will be asked." 39 And most surely he had a nearness to Us and an excellent resort. 40

Notes and Instructions
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
The beginning and end of every Surah mention the Surahs sent down before and after. You can click or tap on either one to go there.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
