We did not create heaven and earth and all that is between them in vain. That is the opinion of those who deny the truth. Woe betide those who deny the truth, when they are cast into the Fire -- 27 Shall We make those who believe and work righteous works like unto the corrupters in the earth; or shall We make the God-fearing like unto the wicked! 28 [This is] a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that they might reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding would be reminded. 29 We gave Solomon to David; and he was an excellent worshiper, he was penitent. 30 When the noble galloping horses were displayed to him one evening, 31 He said: "The love of horses is worthy of desire to me for the remembrance of my Lord;" and when they were out of sight, (he said): 32 "Bring them back to me!" -- [he said] and began to stroke their legs and their necks. 33 Surely We put Solomon to the test and cast upon his throne a mere body. Thereupon he penitently turned (to Us). 34 saying, "Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom that no one after me can have the like. You are All-munificent". 35 Then We made the wind subservient to him; it made his command to run gently wherever he desired, 36 and the satans, every builder and diver 37 And others fettered in chains. 38 This is Our free gift, therefore give freely or withhold, without reckoning. 39 And indeed, for him is nearness to Us and a good place of return. 40
