And remember Our servant Ayyub, when he called upon his Lord: The Shaitan has afflicted me with toil and torment. 41 (The command was given:) "Strike with thy foot: here is (water) wherein to wash, cool and refreshing, and (water) to drink." 42 And We gave him (back) his family, and along with them the like thereof, as a Mercy from Us, and a Reminder for those who understand. 43 (and We said to him): “Take in your hand a bundle of rushes and strike with it, and do not break your oath.” Indeed We found him steadfast. How excellent a servant (of Ours) he was. Indeed he constantly turned (to his Lord). 44 Remember Our votaries Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, men of power and insight. 45 Verily We exalted them in consideration of a sterling quality: their remembrance of the Abode of the Hereafter. 46 In Our eyes they were of the chosen, virtuous people. 47 And commemorate Isma'il, Elisha, and Zul-Kifl: Each of them was of the Company of the Good. 48 This is a reminder. And lo! for those who ward off (evil) is a happy journey's end, 49 The gardens of perpetuity, the doors are opened for them. 50 Reclining on pillows, in it they ask for fruits and drinks in plenty. 51 ۞ And with them will be women limiting [their] glances and of equal age. 52 This it is that ye are promised for the Day of Reckoning. 53 Our provision for you will never be exhausted. 54 All this [for the righteous]: but, verily, the most evil of all goals awaits those who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right: 55 Hell, wherein they roast: a wretched couch. 56 Yea, such! - then shall they taste it,- a boiling fluid, and a fluid dark, murky, intensely cold!- 57 and, coupled with it, further [suffering] of a similar nature. 58 “Here is another group that was with you, falling along with you”; they will answer, “Do not give them plenty of open space; they surely have to enter the fire – let them also be confined!” 59 They will say, "Nor you! No welcome for you. You, [our leaders], brought this upon us, and wretched is the settlement." 60 [And] they will pray: "O our Sustainer! Whoever has prepared this for us, double Thou his suffering in the fire!" 61 And they say, “What is the matter with us that we do not see the men whom we thought were evil?” 62 [and] whom we made the target of our derision? Or are they here, and our eyes have missed them?" 63 This contending of the inmates of Hell will surely be real. 64
