Still, the man who had attained to faith went on: "O my people! Follow me: I shall guide you onto the path of rectitude! 38 O people, the life of this world is ephemeral; but enduring is the abode of the Hereafter. 39 Whosoever worketh an evil, he shall not be requited except the like thereof; and whosoever, male or female, worketh righteously, and is a believer - they will enter the Garden wherein they will be provided for without measure. 40 ۞ And, O my people! how is it that I call you to salvation and you call me to the fire? 41 You are asking me to disbelieve in God, and to associate with Him that of which I have no knowledge, yet I invite you to the all-mighty, all-forgiving. 42 There is no doubt that those whom you call me to have no claim to be called upon in this world and in the Hereafter. Certainly to Allah shall be our return, and those who exceed the limits are destined to the Fire. 43 So you shall remember what I say to you, and I entrust my affair to Allah, Surely Allah sees the servants. 44 Allah saved him from the evils that they devised, and an evil punishment encompassed Pharaoh's people. 45 The fire – upon which they are presented morning and evening; and when the Last Day is established – “Put the people of Firaun into the most severe punishment.” (Punishment in the grave is proven by this verse.) 46 During a dispute in the fire, the suppressed ones will say to those who had dominated them, "We were your followers. Can you now relieve us of our suffering in the fire?" 47 Those who had been arrogant will say, "Indeed, all [of us] are in it. Indeed, Allah has judged between the servants." 48 Those in the Fire will say to the Keepers of Hell: "Pray to your Lord to lighten us the Penalty for a day (at least)!" 49 The keepers of Hell will ask: “Did your Messengers not come to you with Clear Signs?” They will say: “Yes (they did).” The keepers of Hell will say: “Then you yourselves should call (upon the Lord). And the call of the unbelievers will end in vain.” 50
