Elucidated (Fussilat)

54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

Ha Mim. 1 A revelation from the Beneficent, the Merciful, 2 A Book whose verses have been distinguished and explained, a lucid discourse for people who understand, 3 Giving good news and admonition: yet most of them turn away, and so they hear not. 4 They say: “Our hearts are securely wrapped up against what you call us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between you and us there is a veil. So act; we too are acting.” 5 Say, O [Muhammad], "I am only a man like you to whom it has been revealed that your god is but one God; so take a straight course to Him and seek His forgiveness." And woe to those who associate others with Allah - 6 Those who practise not regular Charity, and who even deny the Hereafter. 7 Verily those who believe and work righteous works - unto them shall be a hire unceasing. 8
