Elucidated (Fussilat)

54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

HaMeem. 1 A revelation from the most benevolent, ever-merciful, 2 A Book, whereof the verses are explained in detail;- a Qur'an in Arabic, for people who understand;- 3 good tidings to bear, and warning, but most of them have turned away, and do not give ear. 4 They say: 'Our hearts are veiled from that to which you call us, and in our ears there is heaviness. And between us and you is a veil. So work (as you will) and we are working' 5 Say (Prophet Muhammad): 'I am only a human like you, to whom it is revealed that your God is One God. Therefore be straight with Him and ask Him to forgive you. Woe to the idolaters, 6 Those who do not give zakah, and in the Hereafter they are disbelievers. 7 "The ones who believe and perform good deeds shall have a reward which will never be withheld from them." 8
