Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha Mim! 1 A revelation from the most benevolent, ever-merciful, 2 A Book whose verses have been detailed, an Arabic Qur'an for a people who know, 3 It bears glad tidings and a warning, yet most of them turn away and do not listen. 4 And they say, “Our hearts are covered against the affair you call us to, and there is deafness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us and you – therefore mind your own business, we are minding ours.” 5 Tell them, (O Prophet): “I am only a human being like you. It is revealed to me that your God is One God; so direct yourselves straight to Him, and seek His forgiveness. Woe to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity, 6 who do not pay charity and disbelieve in the Everlasting Life. 7 Lo! as for those who believe and do good works, for them is a reward enduring. 8
