Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Ha-Mim. 1 A sending down from the Merciful, the Compassionate. 2 a Book whose revelations are well expounded, an Arabic Quran for people who possess knowledge, 3 It bears glad tidings and a warning, yet most of them turn away and do not listen. 4 And say: "Our hearts are immured against what you call us to. There is a deafness in our ears, and a veil lies between us and you. So act (your way), we are acting (ours)." 5 Say thou: I am only a human being like unto you; only it is revealed unto me that your God is but One God, wherefore take the straight path unto Him and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe be unto the associators. 6 (To) those who do not give poor-rate and they are unbelievers in the hereafter. 7 Verily those who believe and work righteous works - unto them shall be a hire unceasing. 8
