The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
