Whatever misfortune befalls you is of your own doing, God forgives much, 30 And you cannot escape in the earth; and you have neither a friend nor any supporter against Allah. 31 And of His signs are the ships in the sea, like mountains. 32 Had He wanted, He could have stopped the wind and let the ships remain motionless on the surface of the sea, in this there is evidence (of the Truth) for all those who are patient and grateful, 33 Or He causeth them to perish on account of that which they have earned - And He forgiveth much - 34 He knows all those who dispute His revelations. They will find no way to escape from (His torment). 35 Now whatever ye have been given is but a passing comfort for the life of the world, and that which Allah hath is better and more lasting for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord, 36 And those who avoid heinous sins and indecencies, and when they are wroth forgive. 37 those who answer their Lord, establish the prayers, and their affairs are by consultation; who spend of that which We have given them, 38 and when harmed they become victorious. 39 But [remember that an attempt at] requiting evil may, too, become an evil: hence, whoever pardons [his foe] and makes peace, his reward rests with God - for, verily, He does not love evildoers. 40 And whoever defends himself after his being oppressed, these it is against whom there is no way (to blame). 41 The way is only open against those who do wrong to the people, and are insolent in the earth wrongfully; there awaits them a painful chastisement. 42 But surely he who bears patiently and is forgiving -- surely that is true constancy. 43
