Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha'. Mim. 1 By the manifest Book (that makes things clear, i.e. this Quran). 2 Surely We have made it an Arabic Quran that you may understand. 3 Indeed it is transcribed in the Original Book with Us; sublime and full of wisdom. 4 Shall We utterly ignore you because ye are a wanton folk? 5 But how many were the prophets We sent amongst the peoples of old? 6 And never came there a Prophet to them but they used to mock at him. 7 Then We destroyed men stronger (in power) than these, and the example of the ancients has passed away (before them). 8 And if thou askest them: who hath created the heavens and the earth? they will surely say: created them the Mighty, the Knower. 9 He Who made the earth a resting-place for you, and made in it ways for you that you may go aright; 10 And Who sent down water from the sky with a proper measure, so We revived a dead city with it; this is how you will be taken out. 11 It is He who has created everything in pairs and the ships and cattle for you to ride, 12 In order that you may mount firmly on their backs, and then may remember the Favour of your Lord when you mount thereon, and say: "Glory to Him who has subjected this to us, and we could never have it (by our efforts)." 13 And verily, to Our Lord we indeed are to return! 14 Yet they have made some of His servants a part of Him. Indeed man is most evidently thankless. 15
