Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 By the Book that makes things clear,- 2 verily We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you may understand. 3 Indeed it is transcribed in the Original Book with Us; sublime and full of wisdom. 4 Should We have withdrawn the Reminder from you as you are a people who exceed the bounds? 5 And how many a prophet did We send to people of olden times! 6 But never yet came a prophet to them without their deriding him 7 Then We destroyed men mightier than these in prowess; and the example of the men of old hath gone (before them). 8 If you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?", they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All Knowing One has created them." 9 Who has made the earth a cradle for you and made thereon paths for you so that, hopefully, you may find your way 10 He Who sent down water from the sky in a determined measure, and thereby We revived a dead land: likewise will you be raised up (from the earth) -- 11 And who created the species, all of them, and has made for you of ships and animals those which you mount. 12 In order that ye may sit firm and square on their backs, and when so seated, ye may celebrate the (kind) favour of your Lord, and say, "Glory to Him Who has subjected these to our (use), for we could never have accomplished this (by ourselves), 13 And verily, to Our Lord we indeed are to return! 14 And they assign to Him a part of His servants; man, to be sure, is clearly ungrateful. 15
