Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Ha-Mim. 1 By the Book that makes things clear, 2 Indeed, We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you might understand. 3 And indeed it is, in the Mother of the Book with Us, exalted and full of wisdom. 4 Can We ignore sending you the Quran just because you are a transgressing people? 5 How many Messengers did We send to the ancient people? 6 No Prophet came to them whom they did not mock. 7 so We destroyed those who were mightier than these; such was the example of the earlier peoples. 8 Yet, if you ask them who created the heavens and the earth, they will answer: 'The Almighty, the Knower created them' 9 He it is Who made this earth for you a cradle and made in it pathways for you that you may find the way to your destination; 10 And Who sendeth down water from the sky in (due) measure, and We revive a dead land therewith. Even so will ye be brought forth; 11 And He Who created pairs of all things, and made for you of the ships and the cattle what you ride on, 12 so that you can sit upon their backs and then remember the Favors of your Lord and say: 'Exaltations to Him who has subjected these to us otherwise, we ourselves were not capable of it, 13 To our Lord we shall all return". 14 AND YET, they attribute to Him offspring from among some of the beings created by Him! Verily, most obviously bereft of all gratitude is man! 15
