Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 By the Clear Book; 2 Indeed, We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you might understand. 3 Indeed it is transcribed in the Original Book with Us; sublime and full of wisdom. 4 Can We ignore sending you the Quran just because you are a transgressing people? 5 Many a prophet had We sent to the earlier communities, 6 But there would not come to them a prophet except that they used to ridicule him. 7 and so, [in the end,] We destroyed them [even though they were] of greater might than these: and the [very] image of those people of old became a thing of the past. 8 Yet, if you ask them who created the heavens and the earth, they will answer: 'The Almighty, the Knower created them' 9 Who has made the earth a cradle for you and made thereon paths for you so that, hopefully, you may find your way 10 And Who sends down water (rain) from the sky in due measure. Then We revive a dead land therewith, and even so you will be brought forth (from the dead), 11 He who created pairs of everything, and fashioned for you boats and beasts on which you ride, 12 So that you may properly mount their backs, and may remember your Lord’s favour when you have mounted them, and say, “Purity is to Him, Who has given this ride in our control, and we did not have the strength for it.” 13 And to our Lord we shall surely return." 14 And they appoint for Him from His bondmen a part! Verily man is an ingrate manifest. 15
