Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
HA MIM. 1 By the Book that makes things clear,- 2 We verily, have made it a Quran in Arabic, that you may be able to understand (its meanings and its admonitions). 3 It is inscribed in the original Book (of Books) with Us, sublime, dispenser of (all) laws. 4 Shall We then take away the Message from you and repel (you), for that ye are a people transgressing beyond bounds? 5 How many a prophet did We send among the men of old! 6 But never yet came a prophet to them without their deriding him 7 so We destroyed men stronger in valour than they, and the example of the ancients passed away. 8 And if you should ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" they would surely say, "They were created by the Exalted in Might, the Knowing." 9 Who has made for you the earth like a bed, and has made for you roads therein, in order that you may find your way, 10 And He it is who sends down, again and again, waters from the sky in due measure: and [as] We raise therewith dead land to life, even thus will you be brought forth [from the dead]. 11 It is He who has created everything in pairs and the ships and cattle for you to ride, 12 That ye mount firmly on the backs thereof, and then may remember the favour of your Lord when ye mount thereon, and may say: hallowed be He Who hath subjected this unto us, and we for it were not fit. 13 And verily unto our Lord we are to return. 14 And they appoint for Him from His bondmen a part! Verily man is an ingrate manifest. 15
