Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
HaMeem. 1 By the Clear Book, 2 We have made it an Arabic Quran so that you may understand. 3 It is in the Origin of the Book with Us, sublime and wise. 4 What! shall We then turn away the reminder from you altogether because you are an extravagant people? 5 We have sent many a prophet to earlier peoples 6 And not a prophet came unto them but him they were wont to mock. 7 We destroyed the strongest among them in power. The stories of the ancient people have already been mentioned. 8 And if thou (Muhammad) ask them: Who created the heavens and the earth, they will surely answer: The Mighty, the Knower created them; 9 He who made the earth a bed for you, and laid out tracks upon it so that you may find the way; 10 And Who sendeth down water from the sky in (due) measure, and We revive a dead land therewith. Even so will ye be brought forth; 11 He Who created all the pairs, and appointed for you ships and cattle whereupon ye ride. 12 So that when you sit astride of them and think of the bounties of your Lord, you may say: "All glory to Him who subjugated these for us. We were incapable of doing so. 13 Surely we have to go back to our Lord." 14 The pagans have considered some of His servants as His children. There is no doubt that the human being is simply ungrateful. 15
