۞ And when the son of Mary is cited as an example, behold, thy people turn away from it 57 and say: 'What, are our gods better, or is he?' They do not mention him to you except to dispute, truly, they are a contentious nation. 58 Jesus was not but a servant upon whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel. 59 Had We willed, We would have appointed angels among you to be successors in the earth. 60 It is the knowledge of the Hour. Have no doubt concerning it, and follow me. This is a Straight Path, 61 And let not Shaitan (Satan) hinder you (from the right religion, i.e. Islamic Monotheism), Verily, he (Satan) to you is a plain enemy. 62 And when Eisa came to them with clear signs, he said, “I have come to you with wisdom, and to explain to you some of the matters regarding which you dispute; therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 63 Verily God is my Lord and your Lord; so worship Him. This is the straight path." 64 But the sects from among themselves differed. So woe to those who do wrong (by ascribing things to 'Iesa (Jesus) that are not true) from the torment of a painful Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 65 Await they aught save the Hour, that it shall come upon them suddenly, when they know not? 66 The intimate friends on that Day will be hostile unto one another save the God-fearing. 67
