۞ When the son of Mary is mentioned as an example, your people turn away from it 57 saying, "Are our gods better or him?" -- they cite him only to challenge you: they are a contentious people -- 58 He ['Iesa (Jesus)] was not more than a slave. We granted Our Favour to him, and We made him an example to the Children of Israel (i.e. his creation without a father). 59 If We had so willed We could have made some of you into angels to become your successors on earth. 60 (Muhammad), tell them, "Jesus is a sign of the Hour of Doom.
