and We saved the Children of Israel from a humiliating punishment 30 Inflicted by Pharaoh, for he was arrogant (even) among inordinate transgressors. 31 And We chose them (the Children of Israel) above the 'Alamin (mankind, and jinns) [during the time of Musa (Moses)] with knowledge, 32 And sent them tokens to bring out the best in them. 33 These men do say, 34 "After we die, we shall never be raised to life again. 35 Bring back to life our fathers if what you say is true". 36 Are they better than the tribe of Tubba (name of a Yemenite tribal chief) and those who lived before them? We destroyed them. They were criminals. 37 And We did not create the heavens and earth and that between them in play. 38 We did not create them except in Truth. But most of them do not know. 39 Verily, the Day of Judgement (when Allah will judge between the creatures) is the time appointed for all of them, 40 the day a master shall avail nothing a client, and they shall not be helped, 41 Except such as receive Allah's Mercy: for He is Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 42

Notes and Instructions
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
The beginning and end of every Surah mention the Surahs sent down before and after. You can click or tap on either one to go there.
Click or tap the small triangles above and below the frame on the left to display the Juz Table of Contents where you can go to any Juz, Hizb, ¾, ½, ¼, or any page within.
