And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture. 30 From Firaun; he was indeed proud, among the transgressors. 31 And We chose them, purposely, above (all) creatures. 32 And sent them tokens to bring out the best in them. 33 These people say, 34 "There is not but our first death, and we will not be resurrected. 35 Bring back to us our fathers if you are truthful.” 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those afore them? We destroyed them; verily they were culprits. 37 For [thus it is:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in mere idle play: 38 We created them with definite purpose; but most of them do not understand. 39 The Day of Decision is the appointed time for all. 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 except those to whom Allah shows mercy. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate. 42
