Thus did We deliver the Children of Israel from the humiliating chastisement, 30 From Firaun; he was indeed proud, among the transgressors. 31 We knowingly exalted them (i.e., the Children of Israel) above other peoples of the world 32 And gave signs to them in which there was a clear trial. 33 Verily these! they say: 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 Bring then our fathers if ye say so. 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them because they were indeed Mujrimun (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals, etc.). 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, for mere play, 38 none of this have We created without [an inner] truth: but most of them understand it not. 39 Truly, the Day of Decision is the appointed time for all of them, 40 The day on which a friend shall not avail (his) friend aught, nor shall they be helped, 41 except those on whom Allah will have mercy. He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 42
