We indeed created man; and We know what his soul whispers within him, and We are nearer to him than the jugular vein. 16 (Remember!) that the two receivers (recording angels) receive (each human being after he or she has attained the age of puberty), one sitting on the right and one on the left (to note his or her actions). 17 each word he utters shall be noted down by a vigilant guardian. 18 The palsy of death will surely come. This is what you wished to avert. 19 And the Trumpet will be blown, that will be the Day whereof warning (had been given) (i.e. the Day of Resurrection). 20 And every person will come forth along with an (angel) to drive (him), and an (angel) to bear witness. 21 [and will be told:] "Indeed, unmindful hast thou been of this [Day of Judgment]; but now We have lifted from thee thy veil, and sharp is thy sight today!" 22 And his companion will say: this is that which with me is ready. 23 (And it is said): Do ye twain hurl to hell each rebel ingrate, 24 “The one who excessively prevented from virtue, the transgressor, the doubtful.” 25 and has set up another deity with Allah. Hurl him into the grievous torment.” 26 ۞ and his associate [Satan] will say, "Lord, I did not make him transgress, he had already gone far astray himself." 27 "Do not argue in My presence. I had announced the promise of doom in advance. 28 The Sentence that comes from Me cannot be changed, and I am not unjust (to the least) to the slaves." 29
