Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 As for the God-fearing, they shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains, 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 And every morning asked forgiveness, 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
