Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion: 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And every morning asked forgiveness, 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
