Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the swift scatterers 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths! 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 sleeping little in the night-time, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
