Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 Verily the promise made to you is true: 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Lo! ye, forsooth, are of various opinion (concerning the truth). 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
