Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 They slept little in the night, 17 And every morning asked forgiveness, 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
