Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those [winds] scattering [dust] dispersing 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
