Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 sleeping little in the night-time, 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith, 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
