Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham? - 24 When they entered unto him, saying 'Peace!' he said 'Peace! You are a people unknown to me.' 25 Then he turned aside to his family secretly and brought a fat (roasted) calf, 26 and he laid it before them saying, 'Will you not eat?' 27 So he conceived in his mind a fear on account of them. They said: Fear not. And they gave him the good news of a boy possessing knowledge. 28 Thereupon his wife approached [the guests] with a loud cry, and struck her face [in astonishment] and exclaimed: "A barren old woman [like me]!" 29 They said: "Even so says your Lord. Verily, He is the All-Wise, the All-Knower." 30 ۞ 'Messengers' said he (Abraham), 'what is your errand' 31 They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals 32 So as to let loose clods of clay on them 33 Marked by your Lord for those who waste their substance." 34 And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there: 35 – and We did not find there any, apart from a single house of Muslims – 36 And We have left there a sign (i.e. the place of the Dead Sea, well-known in Palestine) for those who fear the painful torment. 37 And in Musa (Moses) (too, there is a sign). When We sent him to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with a manifest authority. 38 But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." 39 We seized him and his hosts, and cast them all into the sea: and [none but Pharaoh] himself was to blame [for what happened]. 40 And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. 41 It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust. 42 And in Thamud's also was a lesson, when it was said unto them: enjoy yourselves for a season. 43 But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, 44 And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves. 45 Before all these We destroyed the people of Noah: they were a wicked people. 46
