AND HAS the story of Abraham's honoured guests ever come within thy ken? 24 When they entered upon him and said, "[We greet you with] peace." He answered, "[And upon you] peace, [you are] a people unknown. 25 Then he turned away privately unto his household, and brought a calf fatted. 26 and placed it before them, saying, "Will you not eat?" 27 (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge. 28 (Sarah) his wife came with an exclamation and clasped her face, and said: 'Surely, I am a barren old woman' 29 They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "Messengers, what is your task?" 31 They said, 'We have been sent to a people of sinners, 32 that we may unleash a shower of clay-stones 33 marked out in thy Sustainer's sight for [the punishment of] such as have wasted their own selves." 34 Thus We brought forth from therein who were believers. 35 We therefore found just one house over there that was Muslim. 36 and We left therein a sign for those who fear a painful punishment. 37 And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. 38 But he turned to his counsellors, and said: "He is a magician or lunatic." 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and We cast them into the sea, and he blameworthy. 40 In 'Ad (also is a sign), when We sent a blasting wind against them, 41 that left nothing it came upon, except that it was ashes. 42 And in Thamud, when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a time." 43 Then they turned in disdain from the commandment of their Lord, and the thunderbolt took them and they themselves beholding 44 So they were not able to rise up, nor could they defend themselves- 45 (So were) the people of Nuh (Noah) before them. Verily, they were a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). 46
