Have you heard the story of Abraham's honoured guests? 24 When they came in to him, and said, "Salam, (peace be upon you)!" He answered; "Salam, (peace be upon you)," and said: "You are a people unknown to me," 25 Then he went back to his family and brought a fat roasted calf 26 So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat? 27 He felt afraid of them; but they said: "Have no fear," and gave him the good news of a wise son. 28 His wife came forward, crying and beating her face, saying, "I am an old barren woman!" 29 They said: "Even so says your Lord. Verily, He is the All-Wise, the All-Knower." 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "Messengers, what is your task?" 31 They answered: "Behold, we have been sent unto a people lost in sin, 32 so that we may bring down upon them a shower of stones of clay, 33 marked with thy Lord for the prodigal. 34 We saved all the faithful in the town. 35 And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims. 36 And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. 37 And in Moses (too, there is a portent) when We sent him unto Pharaoh with clear warrant, 38 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] turned away (from Belief in might) along with his hosts, and said: "A sorcerer, or a madman." 39 So We seized him and his hosts and cast them into the sea. Indeed, he was blameworthy. 40 And in (the tribe of) A'ad (there is a portent) when we sent the fatal wind against them. 41 It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. 42 In the Thamud [there was another sign], when they were told, "Make the most of your lives for a while." 43 Then they disdained the command of their Lord; wherefore the bolt laid hold of them even while they looked on. 44 Then they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 And before them the nation of Noah, indeed they were a debauched nation. 46
