Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? 24 When they came in to him, and said, "Salam, (peace be upon you)!" He answered; "Salam, (peace be upon you)," and said: "You are a people unknown to me," 25 He went quietly to his wife and returned to his guests with a fat, roasted calf. 26 He then presented it before them and said, “Do you not eat?” 27 (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge. 28 (Sarah) his wife came with an exclamation and clasped her face, and said: 'Surely, I am a barren old woman' 29 They said, "This is true but your Lord has said, (that you will have a son); He is All-wise and All-knowing". 30 ۞ [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Then for what purpose you have come, O Messengers?" 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people 32 To send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 They are transgressors in the presence of your Lord". 34 We saved all the faithful in the town. 35 but We found not therein except one house of those that have surrendered themselves. 36 We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment. 37 And in Musa (Moses) (too, there is a sign). When We sent him to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with a manifest authority. 38 But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." 39 We seized him and his army and threw them into the sea. He himself was to be blamed. 40 And in 'Aad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 that left nothing it came upon, but made it as stuff decayed. 42 In the Thamud [there was another sign], when they were told, "Make the most of your lives for a while." 43 But they revolted against the commandment of their Lord, so the rumbling overtook them while they saw. 44 they could neither stand up straight, nor were they helped. 45 And before them the nation of Noah, indeed they were a debauched nation. 46
