Have you heard the story of Abraham's honored guests? 24 They entered to him and said: 'Peace' And he replied: 'Peace, you are people unknown to me' 25 So he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf. 26 And placing it before them said: "Won't you eat?" 27 [And when he saw that the guests would not eat,] he became apprehensive of them; [but] they said, "Fear not" - and gave him the glad tiding of [the birth of] a son who would be endowed with deep knowledge. 28 So hearing his wife went forth shouting. She struck her face and exclaimed: “A barren old woman am I.” 29 They said: "Thus said your Lord. He is indeed all-wise and all-knowing." 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "What is your errand, O messengers?" 31 They said: Surely we are sent to a guilty people, 32 That we may send down upon them stone of clay, 33 Marked by thy Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton. 34 So We evacuated everyone who was a believer there, 35 But We found there but one house of those surrendered (to Allah). 36 And We left behind therein a portent for those who fear a painful doom. 37 AND IN [the story of Pharaoh and] Moses, too, [We left the same message: for] when We sent him unto Pharaoh with [Our] manifest authority, 38 and he turned away in [the pride of] his power and said, "A sorcerer [is this Moses,] or a madman!" 39 So We seized him and his hosts and cast them into the sea. Indeed, he was blameworthy. 40 And in (the tribe of) A'ad (there is a portent) when we sent the fatal wind against them. 41 It left out nothing in its path, but which it split up into fragments. 42 And in Samood: When it was said to them: Enjoy yourselves for a while. 43 Then they disdained the command of their Lord; wherefore the bolt laid hold of them even while they looked on. 44 And they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 And the people of Nuh before, surely they were a transgressing people. 46
