The Romans (Al-Room)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif Lam Mim 1 The Romans have been defeated. 2 in a land close by. But, after their defeat they shall become the victors. 3 Within a few (up to nine) years time; only for Allah is the command, before and after; and the believers will rejoice on that day. 4 With the help of Allah. He helps whom He will, and He is exalted in might, most merciful. 5 (It is) the promise of Allah. Never does Allah depart from His promise: but most men understand not. 6 They know the outward of this world's life, but of the hereafter they are absolutely heedless. 7 Have they never thought to themselves that Allah did not create the heavens and the earth and all that is between except with truth, and for a stated term? Yet most people disbelieve that they will ever meet their Lord. 8 Have they not travelled through the land and seen what end their predecessors met? They were mightier than them: they cultivated the earth more and built more upon it than these have ever built. Their own messengers also came to them with clear signs: God did not wrong them; they wronged themselves. 9 Evil was the end of the harmdoers, because they belied the verses of Allah and mocked at them. 10

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
