The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
