Hizb 53
< random >
Has the story reached you, of the honoured guests [three angels; Jibrael (Gabriel) along with another two] of Ibrahim (Abraham)? 24 When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people. 25 He went quietly to his wife and returned to his guests with a fat, roasted calf. 26 and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” 27 (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge. 28 So hearing his wife went forth shouting. She struck her face and exclaimed: “A barren old woman am I.” 29 They said: even so saith thine Lord. Verily He! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ Abraham said: “Envoys (of Allah), what is your errand?” 31 They answered: "Behold, we have been sent unto a people lost in sin, 32 To send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 Marked by your Lord for the Musrifun (polytheists, criminals, sinners those who trespass Allah's set limits in evil-doings by committing great sins). 34 Then We evacuated there from all the believers 35 And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims. 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Musa: When We sent him to Firon with clear authority. 38 But he turned his back, he and his courtiers, and said, "This is a sorcerer or a madman." 39 So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame. 40 And in the 'Ad (people) (was another Sign): Behold, We sent against them the devastating Wind: 41 and it destroyed everything over which it passed and reduced it to dust. 42 And in Samood: When it was said to them: Enjoy yourselves for a while. 43 But in their pride they turn away from the commandment of their Lord and the thunderbolt struck them whilst they were looking; 44 for they were unable even to rise, and could not defend themselves. 45 And before them the nation of Noah, indeed they were a debauched nation. 46
