The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the Mount (of Revelation); 1 And the Scripture inscribed 2 In an outstretched fine parchment, 3 The house ever-peopled, 4 And the elevated canopy 5 and by the swelling ocean, 6 the punishment of your Lord shall certainly come to pass, 7 Of it there is no preventer. 8 On the day when the heavens will swiftly fly 9 and the mountains move, moving. 10 So woe on that day to those who reject (the truth), 11 Who are playing in falsehood. 12 The Day when they will be pushed down by force to the Fire of Hell, with a horrible, forceful pushing. 13 This is the fire which you used to give the lie to. 14 Is this magic, or do ye not see? 15 [Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do." 16 Verily the God-fearing will be in Gardens and Delight. 17 rejoicing in that their Lord has given them; and their Lord shall guard them against the chastisement of Hell. 18 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did, 19 (They shall be) reclining on couches ranged in rows and We shall wed them to houris (virgins of Paradise) with large wide eyes. 20 And those who believe and whose offspring follow them in Faith, to them shall We join their offspring, and We shall not decrease the reward of their deeds in anything. Every person is a pledge for that which he has earned. 21 And We will provide them with fruit and meat from whatever they desire. 22 There, they shall pass from hand to hand a cup which does not lead to any idle talk or sin. 23 ۞ And round them shall go boys of theirs as if they were hidden pearls. 24 They will converse with one another, putting questions to each other, 25 They will say, "Indeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of displeasing Allah]. 26 But God has been gracious to us, and has saved us from the torment of scorching wind. 27 Verily we were wont to pray unto Him aforetime; verily He! it is He, the Benign, the Merciful. 28
