Remind them, therefore, that by the grace of your Lord you are neither a soothsayer nor possessed. 29 Or do they say: “He is a poet for whom we await an adverse turn of fortune.” 30 Say, "Wait, for indeed I am, with you, among the waiters." 31 Or, do their intellects order them to do this? Or, are they an insolent people? 32 Do they say: “He has himself fabricated the Qur'an?” No; the truth is that they are altogether averse to believing. 33 Let them produce a discourse like it if they are true in their claim. 34 Or were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no firm Belief. 36 Do they possess the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the treasurers? 37 Or have they a stairway [into the heaven] upon which they listen? Then let their listener produce a clear authority. 38 Or hath He daughters whereas ye have sons? 39 Or do you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) ask any fee from them, so they are burdened with the penalty? 40 Or possess they the Unseen so that they can write (it) down? 41 Seek they to lay a plot? Then those who disbelieve it is they who shall be plotted against. 42 Or have they a deity other than Allah? Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him. 43 And if they were to see a fragment from the sky falling, they would say, "[It is merely] clouds heaped up." 44 So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs when they shall be struck down, 45 Their deception will not avail them in the least on that day, nor will they be helped. 46 And there surely awaits the evildoers a chastisement beyond even that, but most of them know it not. 47 Now await in patience the command of thy Lord: for verily thou art in Our eyes: and celebrate the praises of thy Lord the while thou standest forth, 48 And proclaim His Purity during the night, and when the stars turn back. 49
