Therefore, remind. By the Favor of Allah, you are neither a soothsayer, nor mad. 29 If they say, "He is but a poet; we are waiting for some misfortune to befall him," 30 Say thou: "Await ye!- I too will wait along with you!" 31 Nay! do their understandings bid them this? Or are they an inordinate people? 32 Or do they say: "He has fabricated it?" In fact, they will never believe. 33 Let them then produce a recital like unto it,- If (it be) they speak the truth! 34 Or, were they created out of nothing? Or, were they their own creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they are sure of nothing! 36 Or do they have the treasures of your Lord, or are they the authority? 37 Or, do they have a ladder on which they listen? Then let any of them that has listened bring a clear authority. 38 Or has He daughters while you have sons? 39 Or askest thou a hire from them so that they are with debt laden? 40 Or, is the Unseen in their keeping, so they are writing it down? 41 Seek they to lay a plot? Then those who disbelieve it is they who shall be plotted against. 42 Or have they an ilah (a god) other than Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partners (to Him) 43 And if they were to see a fragment from the sky falling, they would say, "[It is merely] clouds heaped up." 44 So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs, wherein they shall (perforce) swoon (with terror),- 45 when their stratagem shall be of no avail to them, nor shall they be succoured. 46 For the harmdoers there is indeed, a punishment before that, but most of them do not know. 47 And be thou patient under the judgment of thy Lord; surely thou art before Our eyes. And proclaim the praise of thy Lord when thou arisest, 48 And proclaim His Purity during the night, and when the stars turn back. 49
