Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), enlighten, for by the munificence of your Lord, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Do they say: "He is a poet for whom we expect an adverse turn of fortune?" 30 say [to them], "Wait then: I too am waiting along with you!" -- 31 Or do their intellects bid them do this? Or are they an insolent people? 32 What! They say, “He has invented the Qur'an”? Rather they do not have faith. 33 Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful. 34 Were they created by nothing, or were they themselves the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they are sure of nothing! 36 Or do they have the treasures of your Lord, or are they the authority? 37 Or have they a stairway (to heaven), by means of which they listen (to the talks of the angels)? Then let their listener produce some manifest proof. 38 Do the daughters belong to Him and the sons to you? 39 Or do you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) ask any fee from them, so they are burdened with the penalty? 40 Or that the Ghaib (unseen) is with them, and they write it down? 41 Do they want to hatch some plot? Those who deny the truth will be the victims of the plot. 42 Or do they have a god apart from God? He is too exalted for what they associate with Him! 43 And if they were to see a piece of the heaven falling down, they would say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" 44 So leave them alone until they face the day when they will be struck dead from terror 45 and when their evil plans will be of no benefit to them nor will they be helped. 46 And indeed, for those who have wronged is a punishment before that, but most of them do not know. 47 Await the judgement of your Lord, for you are always before Our eyes, and glorify your Lord with praises when you rise, 48 And in the night time, also glorify His Praises, and at the setting of the stars. 49
