EXHORT, then, [O Prophet, all men:] for, by thy Sustainer's grace, thou art neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Or do they say: "(Muhammad SAW is) a poet! We await for him some calamity by time! 30 Say (O Muhammad SAW to them): "Wait! I am with you, among the waiters!" 31 Nay! do their understandings bid them this? Or are they an inordinate people? 32 Or do they say: He has forged it. Nay! they do not believe. 33 Let them then produce a recital like unto it (the Quran) if they are truthful. 34 Were they created out of nothing, or are they their own creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay! they have no certainty. 36 Do they own the treasures of your Lord, or have they been given charge of them? 37 Or have they the means by which they listen? Then let their listener bring a clear authority. 38 Has (God) daughters and they sons? 39 Or do you ask them for a reward, so that they are overburdened by a debt? 40 Or do they have knowledge of the Unknown which they write down? 41 Or do they intend a plot (against thee)? But those who defy Allah are themselves involved in a Plot! 42 Or have they a deity other than Allah? Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him. 43 And were they to see a portion of the sky falling, they will say, “It is a heap of clouds.” 44 Leave them then till they meet that day of theirs wherein they shall be made to swoon (with terror): 45 and when their evil plans will be of no benefit to them nor will they be helped. 46 And verily for those who do wrong there is a torment before that; but most of them know not. 47 And wait thou patiently the judgment of thy Lord; verily thou art before Our eyes; and hallow the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest. 48 And in the night-time also hymn His praise, and at the setting of the stars. 49
